For the fifth time in ten years, Philip has been named as a laureate of Jeunes Ambassadeurs Lyriques! Along with 18 other Canadian singers, Philip will represent the nation’s vocal talent in a series of gala concerts in Montreal in November. In attendance will be many esteemed directors from Europe and across the world.
Philip is thrilled to announce that, in addition to covering the role of Ennis del Mar and performing with the chorus, he will take on the role of Bill Jones in the U.S. Premiere of Brokeback Mountain with New York City Opera! This marks his solo debut with the company following his chorus performance in this past fall's La fanciulla del West. For tickets and more information click here!
On September 30th at 7:30 PM Philip returns to St. Michael's-on-the-Heights Church in Worcester, MA to celebrate their 75th anniversary! In concert with organist Sean Redrow, Philip will perform works by Bach, Faure, and the Five Mystical Songs by Ralph Vaughan Williams. In addition to celebrating the church's anniversary, the concert will be a benefit for victims of the recent hurricanes to strike the southern United States.
This concert marks a homecoming for Philip as he grew up in Worcester, and started singing with the Saint Michaels on-the-Heights Church children's choir!

Philip is proud and excited to announce that he has been named one of fourteen finalists in this year's Lotte Lenya Competition! Coming off of his semi-final performance and coaching with Broadway vet Judy Blazer he heads to Rochester, NY at the end of April where he will compete in the finals. Fourteen competitors from five countries were named finalists, and Philip is thrilled to represent Canada. For more information on the competition, click here!
Philip is please to announce that he has been named a semi-finalist in the 2017 Lotte Lenya Competition! A program of the Kurt Weill Foundation for Music, the competition recognizes singer/actors for excellence in a wide-ranging repertoire of theater singing. The semi-finals take place in early March in New York.
Just announced! Philip will make his New York City Oratorio debut singing the role of Adam in Haydn's The Creation. He joins soloists Ellen Goff Entriken, James Benjamin Rodgers, and Andrew Martens in a performance conducted by William Entriken. 4 PM on March 26th at the First Presbyterian Church in NYC.
Philip will return to perform with the Fairfield County Chorale in May 2017. He will perform the baritone solos in Fauré's Requiem and in Ralph Vaughan Williams' Dona Nobis Pacem. The concert will feature the Fairfield County Chorale, Maestro David Rosenmeyer, and Soprano Larisa Martinez. Philip last performed with the Chorale in December 2015, singing the Bach Magnificat.
A couple of exciting news items:
- Philip has been invited by his alma mater, Queen's University, to perform in a gala performance celebrating the Queen's School of Music and Drama. He joins other distinguished alumni in a performance not to be missed in Kingston, ON!
- Philip will make his New York concert debut with the Huntington Choral Society in Huntington, NY, performing the Duruflé Requiem and the Mozart Vesperae Solennes de Confessore!

Day 1 of rehearsals is in the books! Philip has returned to Montreal to sing Abimelech in what will surely be a groundbreaking, revolutionary production of Saint-Saens' grand opera, Samson et Dalila. The nearly-all-Canadian cast features Endrik Wottrich and Marie-Nicole Lemieux in the title roles, and is rounded out with Gregory Dahl, Alain Coulombe, Aaron Sheppard, Christopher Dunham, and Pasquale D'Alessio. Directed by Alain Gauthier and conducted by Jean-Marie Zetouni.

Philip is thrilled to announce a return to the Opéra de Montréal in January 2015 to sing Abimélech in Samson et Dalila by Camille Saint-Saens. The cast includes Marie-Nicole Lemieux, Endrich Wottrich, and Gregory Dahl. Jean-Marie Zeitouni will conduct and Alain Gauthier will direct. This production will mark Philip's seventh performance at L'OdeM, and his first since the Prix Opus-winning Dead Man Walking.

Philip will make his European debut at the Printemps musical de Silly in Belgium on May 4th!

Big news from Jeunes Ambassadeurs Lyriques 2013! Philip was named the recipient of the inaugural Prix Banque TD Jeune Espoir Lyrique, a $2500 bursary to support professional training and development. Philip was also promised future engagements at Vancouver Opera and Festival Opera St. Eustache! More news to come as soon as more details emerge! Stay tuned!
The prizes and engagements are the result of 4 days of concerts presented by the Jeunes Ambassadeurs Lyriques where Canadian and foreign singers performed for audiences and representatives from opera houses and companies in Europe, Asia, and Canada. This was Philip's fourth representation as a laureate of JAL.
